HVS/PTA Event Packed All Day Long
The HVS vs PTA Cricket Match and BBQ on Saturday 18th September was a huge success with over two hundred people coming to join in the fun.
From the moments the gates opened at 11am there was a steady stream of villagers arriving with their deck chairs to enjoy the cricket, BBQ and games in the sun. Tickets sold well in advance with over 50 more people turning up on the day. The last beers were downed at 6.45pm....

Village Family Event for Everyone
The day was the idea of HVS's new Chairman, Jo Newbold, to have an event to bring the village together following 18 months of Covid. Working very closely with St Nicholas School PTA, the event committee masterminded an event that had something for everybody; old fashion children's games (he bouncy castle and archery were particularly popular), a fabulous BBQ by Flame BBQ and 'English Tea' in a box, a jazz trio, as well as an all day bar run by Cricket Club.

Sponsored by Local Companies
The event was generously sponsored by a number of local companies; Hiip Organic, Davis Tate Estate Agents in Twyford, and also Waitrose. All the printing of material was done by RGB UK and the HVS players shirts and advertising banners were sponsored and provided by CGI. Also a huge thanks to Hurst Cricket Club who were central to the day.
The Cricket Match and BBQ were also featured in Wokingham Today, you can see the article on the HVS press page.

The HVS Cricket Team
The central event of the day - the cricket match - was very narrowly won by HVS on the penultimate ball.
