Jo Newbold
"It is with great regret that due to ongoing family health issues I am having to step down as Chairman of the Hurst Village Society. It has been a great honour to have led the ship for the last year, especially with all the major challenges on the large scale planning front such as Broadcommon Road and now Tape Lane. However, we have also had some great successes such as the family cricket match which will hopefully now become an annual event and the archive and book launch. I wish the team all the very best and will continue to support both them and the village from behind the scenes as best I can.” 1 March 2022
The HVS Committee on behalf of all members of The Society would like to take this opportunity of thanking Jo for all that she has done for The Society and thereby the local Community in the relatively short time that she has been our Chairman. She brought fresh life, enthusiasm, and a commitment to openness and professional standards to a Society that was floundering but that now boasts an informative web page and through it's communications network ensures members and other local residents are aware of any major issue that is or has the potential to affect the whole community. Also she never lost sight of the need for the village to get together and have fun and take full advantage of the wonderful facilities we have available to us all. Jo, you were extremely hard working and had the ability to motivate and bring out the best in those around you and we wish you and your husband Dave well in the future. Thank you.
